Shoulder
  • Arthroscopy: rotator cuff repair, SLAP repair, recurrent shoulder instability, frozen shoulder.
  • Trauma: Fractures of the clavicle, proximal humerus and dislocations of acromioclavicular joint.

Elbow
  • Non surgical treatment of tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow.
  • Trauma: ranging from acute bony fracture to chronic non union, stiffness and sequelae of previous surgery.

Experience

Dr Lam is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon and prior to joining OT&P in 2017, he was a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in London for over 10 years.

Dr Lam graduated from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’s Hospitals, the University of London in 1996. His Specialist Registrar training was spent on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex rotation (Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals).

Dr Lam underwent further fellowship training in shoulder surgery with Dr Joe de Beer in Cape Town, South Africa, as well as in shoulder and upper limb surgery with Dr Daniel Mok at Epsom, UK. He also completed a fellowship in hand and upper limb reconstruction with Professor Jesse Jupiter at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA. In addition to his surgical qualifications, Dr Lam has a Masters degree in Orthopaedic Engineering and his thesis was centred on the management of complex elbow fractures.

Dr Lam’s clinical practice is entirely evidence-based and the treatment he offers is based on the latest research and best surgical techniques, as well as the individual needs of the patient. Dr Lam has an active interest in scientific research and has published widely in international peer-review journals. He is a regular speaker and faculty member of several Orthopaedic international and national meetings.
